I’ve looked forward to this for a long time, so I’m happy to announce I will co-drive at both Sandown and Bathurst with Brad. Except for my dad I can’t think of anyone else I would rather drive those races with; it will be pretty special.

Brad is renowned for performing well at endurance events, especially at Bathurst, so hopefully we go well.

The other car will be driven by Simon Wills and Damien White. Damien is pretty quick and he finished second in the development series at Oran Park, making him a good acquisition.

This week we will fit the cars with seats, which is time consuming but important, considering we spend the whole day in the cars and all have different body shapes. It will work out fine though because if I can have a seat which is comfortable for myself and John Cleland (who is short and round), as I did a few years ago, I can share a car with anyone.

As you can see in my MMS section I went paintballing with the team on Friday and it was awesome. I actually hurt my thumb by slipping and jamming between the gun and the ground, and needed to get it drilled after the pain wouldn’t subside after a few beers, but it’s all good now.

The team made me continue my role as driver (this time of the bus), while they all got to drink after the event. Needless to say there were a few extra stops on the way home.

I’ve got a few good bruises on my back, but nothing too severe.

The weekend was great and I spent all of it outdoors enjoying the weather. First by going for an 80km bike ride without cold weather gear and then by painting our double-hung back windows.

It took Mish and I all weekend, they were unbelievably hard to paint, and my less-than-impressive handyman skills probably made it worse, but it was fun!

Speaking of “fun”, I found it funny that Kevin Rudd visiting a strip club was news for so long. It seems odd to me that his opponents could only come up with something most males have done at one time or another, and if anything it backfired a little bit, in that it made him one of the boys to some people.

Anyway, I’m off on another bike ride now.
